The first single from the album, “Company” was released on September 16, 2016. The album also includes the promotional singles “Ride of Your Life” and “Party Favors”. Unlike the single version of “Party Favors”, the album version doesn’t feature rapper Young Thug. The album is the first part of a double album to be completed with Joyride in 2017.

In 2007, Tinashe joined girl group The Stunners, founded by Vitamin C. Her bandmates were friends Marisol Esparza, Allie Gonino, Hayley Kiyoko, and Kelsey Sanders. Six months after their formation, the group signed with Columbia Records. The Stunners recorded a single that was to be used for the iCarly soundtrack; however, the single was never released.

In 2009, the group left Columbia Records and signed a production deal with Lionsgate Entertainment, who also produced a scripted television show pilot based on the group for MTV. On March 18, 2009, they released a single, “Bubblegum”, on iTunes, along with the official video.

In October, the group released a 5-song EP, influenced by artists such as Madonna, Gwen Stefani, and Rihanna. The music video for their promo single, “We Got It”, was released on February 22, 2010.

Stereotypes https://www.lavozqueacaricia.com/js_albums/stereotypes/ https://www.lavozqueacaricia.com/js_albums/stereotypes/#respond Mon, 14 Nov 2016 21:25:21 +0000 http://smartwpress.com/lucille3/?post_type=js_albums&p=1987 Stereotypes marks the third LP but major-label debut for hip-hop/classical crossover duo Black Violin, who also incorporate jazz, R&B, roots, rap, and pop into their unconstrained sound.

Violinist Marcus and violist Wil B invited numerous collaborators to the recording, including but not limited to Grammy-winning singer Melanie Fiona, rapper Pharoahe Monch, keyboardist Ray Angry (Dianne Reeves, Elvis Costello), drummer Daru Jones (Jack White, Talib Kweli), string arranger/performer Rob Moose (yMusic, Alabama Shakes, Bon Iver), and producer Eli Wolf (Norah Jones, Digable Planets).

Much more likely to appeal to open-minded hip-hop devotees and those with eclectic tastes than to strict classical fans, the impressive collection offers 11 original tunes, including the atmospheric and wistful “Addiction” and virtuosic instrumental “Runnin’,” as well as a funky, mostly instrumental cover of the Bacharach-David classic “Walk on By.”

Made Up Mind https://www.lavozqueacaricia.com/js_albums/emotion-commotion/ https://www.lavozqueacaricia.com/js_albums/emotion-commotion/#respond Sun, 11 Sep 2016 09:06:07 +0000 http://smartwpress.com/lucille3/?post_type=js_albums&p=13 Throughout a career that has spanned five decades, from the Yardbirds to solo stardom, landing him in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, guitarist Jeff Beck has continued to defy expectations. Steadfastly refusing to bow to convention, or even to straightjacket his performances into any critical pigeonhole, Beck’s sound is continuously in flux, skipping like a stone across a pond, dancing with hard rock, blues, jazz, and even flirting with the metallic.

Grammy winning guitarist and rock n roll legend Jeff Beck returns with his first album in seven years and what an album! The album is eclectic to say the least, it not only features the vocal talents of Grammy Award winner Joss Stone on 2 tracks but also a full blown orchestra on some tracks too. Joss Stone is an amazing vocalist with a gravelly voice way beyond her years and puts her stamp on the 1956 classic Screamin’ Jay Hawkins track “I Put A Spell On You” as does Jeff Beck with his wonderfully phrased blues licks.

Jeff Beck recorded Emotion And Commotion late last year at Sarm Studios in London with award-winning producers Steve Lipson and Trevor Horn. To create the album’s diverse sound, Beck used a number of musicians, including appearances by frequent collaborators Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), Jason Rebello (keyboards), and Tal Wilkenfeld (bass). The album also includes contributions from a trio of singers: Imelda May (“Lilac Wine“), Olivia Safe (“Elegy For Dunkirk“), and Grammy-winner Joss Stone (“I Put A Spell On You” and “There’s No Other Me“).
